220 MHz antenna goes up, and SWRs come down

The 224.52 MHz repeater has gone live with the antenna higher up and better range. Please keep checking into the repeater and spread the word to increase activity. Thanks to KC4NSE, WB4FAX, N4GO, KD4KWP, K4RIR, N4HDF and some others that I have probably forgotten who have been on the machine since the antenna went up. Thanks to KD4BPZ, KD4GIE, KI4BWJ for being a part of the antenna install crew. Please contact us with any comments on range or anything related!

After a swift installation earlier in the week, we were able to go back to the site and finish things up. The problem with the SWR on the Hustler G7 220 was tracked to a combination of needing to adjust the length of the antenna, and the center of the N connector had been spread by the hardline connector. The antenna was quickly repaired and can be seen resting on the upper arm near the 2m/70cm/1296 MHz antenna.

Doug, KD4GIE shows his skills while working to install the antenna, mast pipe and mount for the 220 MHz antenna. The feedline is Andrews 1/2 inch superflex, and the antenna is a Hustler G7-220. It is installed at approximately 80 feet.
