Preliminary approval received for new repeater site

Preliminary approval has been received from the Prince George County board of supervisors for a new repeater site that hopefully will go in service later this year.

A recent presentation to the board was well received, and final approval is pending based on paperwork with the county attorney.  This will bring the total to three water towers available to amateur radio operators to support communications throughout the region.

The plan is to move the 220 MHz system to the site later this year and provide increased linking options throughout the region.  The presentation was attended by KD4BPZ, KD4GIE, KD4TXS, KA4CBB, KG4YJB and WA4QFP.  Special thanks to Bill, WA4QFP for help with navigating the county system to make this possible.  Please stay tuned here for further updates!
