The rise of DMR in amateur radio

Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) is on the rise in the amateur radio community, and here is a little proof.  I’ve been experimenting with the mode (aka MOTOTRBO) since the fall on our UHF TRBO repeater system. As you can see, over 100 repeaters exist across the world, with well over 1,000 registered users.  Let me remind you that this MODE currently is not available in off the shelf amateur gear, so that is quite a following for folks using commercial gear in the amateur band.  Lets see what Yaesu brings to the table later this year!
